Sacred Roots Pelvic Health & Physical Therapy Services
This is our first session where we get to know each other and you tell your story. We begin the process of discovering where your symptoms are coming from. Then, we will perform an assessment of your posture, pelvis, and pelvic floor. You will begin on a path of healing and together we create a personalized roadmap that will lead you to feeling better and whole.
Communication and consent are important during this time. So many women are retraumatized by vaginal medical exams. If this is a concern, please don't hesitate to bring this up. We can decide to not perform a pelvic floor assessment. An evaluation or treatment that causes pain or discomfort is not helpful to your healing journey.
At our follow up visits, we will perform additional assessments of other parts of your body that could be contributing to the problem. These can include but are not limited to the spine, hips, abdomen, scar tissue, and rib cage. Based on our findings, we will perform hands-on therapy as well as give you a movement program to help the body return to its natural state. We want to get a whole picture of why your body is moving the way it is and how we can get you moving the way you want to move.
